SLGAAP Pilot Phase

Overview

Engineering assessments for 100 assets are currently underway and due for completion in 2020. The assessment results will be published in the NHVR Portal Route Planner, giving road managers and industry the ability to select the best route for their vehicle movements.

The SLGAAP team is currently working with a number of local government Road Managers validated through a matrix-based process.  Using an online survey tool, these Road Managers were asked to submit details for up to ten (10) assets for assessment. The SLGAAP team then reviewed the list of assets and prioritise those for eligibility and assessment under the pilot.

Engagement included industry associations and local industry in areas of the selected Road Managers.

Results of asset assessments will be made available to users of the NHVR Portal and the work will inform the development of a Road Manager Toolkit.

What assets are being assessed during the pilot phase?

Selected Local Governments nominated assets for engineering assessments. To qualify, each asset was reviewed against bridge engineering assessment standards and information regarding OverSize/OverMass (OSOM) heavy vehicle movements across the structures.

The following assets will be assessed under the pilot phase.

Please share your thoughts about the OSOM network assets selected for the Pilot Phase.

Are there additional assets that would benefit from an engineering assessment? These will be considered in the Round 1 Phase of the project delivery.
